■文法

(1)不定詞 ２つの動詞を重ねて表現するときは、like to readのように、先に言いたい方の動詞の後ろに to＋動詞の原形の形をとる。 このto＋動詞の原形のことを不定詞という。 不定詞には、「〜すること」という意味で使われる名詞的用法、「〜するために」、「〜して」 という意味で使われる副詞的用法、「〜すべき」、「〜するための」という意味で使われる 形容詞的用法の３つがある。 (2)不定詞の名詞的用法 「〜することを―」や「〜することが―」と表現するとき、動詞の後にto＋動詞の原形をおく。 一般動詞の文 He likes math. 　 (彼は数学が好きです。) 名詞             不定詞を含む文 He likes to study. (彼は勉強することが好きです。) 不定詞 不定詞が名詞と同じ働きをしているので、名詞的用法という。 不定詞の名詞的用法に使われる動詞 begin to (〜を始める) like to (〜が好き) decide to (〜を決める) need to (〜を必要とする) fogeet to (〜を忘れる) start to (〜を始める) hope to (〜を望む) try to (〜を試みる) learn to (〜を習う) want to (〜したい) 不定詞の否定文・疑問文 肯定文 I want to play tennis.   (私はテニスがしたい。) 否定文 I don't want to play tennis.   (私はテニスがしたくない。) 疑問文 Do you want to play tennis?   (あなたはテニスがしたいですか。) 不定詞は1つの単語のようになるので、否定文や疑問文になっても 形は変わらない。 不定詞の名詞的用法は1つの名詞として扱われるので、主語になることもある。 To play tennis is fun.
